These results demonstrate the chondroprotective effects of the combination chondroitin sulfate-glucosamine in vivo, in the experimental model of anterior cruciate ligament transection in ovariectomised rats, and suggest that this combination may be useful to control the joint catabolic effects of inflammatory stress.
