In conclusion, this study profiled serum miRNAs in osteoporosis and identified 9 miRNAs highly associated with osteoporosis in blood serum. In bone tissue, 6 differentially expressed miRNAs were detectable. Five of these were simultaneously upregulated in the serum samples. Those 5 identified, significantly upregulated circulating miRNAs may provide novel biomarkers for osteoporosis and may play an important role in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis‐related hip fractures
